19 Mayıs Üniv. Tıp Fak. Med. Onkoloji AD, SAMSUN Ten patients with gastric lymphoma were admitted to the departments of Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology of 19 Mayıs University Hospital between January 93-April 95. The patients were staged according to the TNM system. One patient had Stage I, 2 Stage II, 6 Stage III and 1 Stage IV disease. Histopathology was diffuse large cell in 4 patients, diffuse small and large cell in 1, diffuse large cell immunoblastic in 2 and not determined in 3. In 8 patients, surgery was performed previously. Seven of these patients received postresectional adjuvan therapy, 3 had chemotherapy and 4 chemotherapy + radiotherapy. One patient who had undergone gastric resection didn't receive adjuvant therapy. This patient was Stage I. One of the two patients with no previouis surgical treatment received chemotherapy + radiotherapy and the other only chemotherapy. Complete response was observed in all patients after chemotherapy. Median follow-up was 17.5 months. Overall disease-free survival was 7-31 months (median 19 months). No recurrence was observed. Despite the fact that the number of cases were few and the duration of follow-up was short, it can be suggested that patients with gastric lymphoma could have a good treatment chance as no recurrence was observed in our study group. In our opinion combination of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy can increase the overall disease free survival with the possibility of curative treatment. Keywords :
