İstanbul Tıp. Fak. Radyoterapi Bilim Dalı In this retrospective study, the results of 6 patients with cerebral third ventricle tumors are presented. Four patients had surgical exploration and in three of four diagnosis was established by biopsy (two patients had diagnosis of differantiated astrocytoma, the other had oligodendroglioma.) Four patients received combined modality treatment (partial resection and postoperative radiotherapy). All of them are alive and completed follow up periods of 62,65,75 and 156 months respectively. Two patients received radiotherapy only, both died with tumor recurrences at 22.and 36.months. Over all 3 and 5 year survival of six patients are 83% and 66%. In this study we also reviewed the treatment results of third ventricle tumors and reviewed the role of surgery and radiotherapy. Keywords :
