99m TC glucoheptonate (99m Tc GHA) scintigraphy is done on 30 patients whose chest x-rays were very highly suggesting malignancy. In addition these cases had AP and lateral chest x- rays, computerised tomography of the chest, sputum examinations which included cytological evaluations, bronchoscopy, bronchial washing, biopsy and torochotomy. 25 cases had malignancy diagnoses as primary bronch carcinomas other than scintigraphy. Of these 23 were diagnosed as having malignancy by 99 m TcGHA scintigraphy. 5 cases were found to be non-malignant 99 m Tc GHA scintigraphy as well as other diagnostic tests. Therefore the sensitivity of scintigraphy was found to be % 92 and specificity % 100 in diagnosing primary bronchogenic carcinomas. These results are quite compatible to Ga 67 studies. But the latter is more expensive since it is a cyclotrone product, and takes 48-72 hours to complete the test and the need of special camera capable of registiring three different rays. In conclution, 99 m TC GHA is more suitable, equally effective easily applicable diagnostic method than Ga 67 application.
