İÜ İstanbul Tıp Fakültesi, İç Hastalıkları Ana BD., Hematoloji BD. Recently, peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (PBSCT) has been performed widely as an alternative for bone marrow transplantation. The quantitation of the CD34+ hematopoietic stem cells is essential for the transfusion of an adequate dose of hematopoietic stem cells in PBSCT. There are some large, multicentric studies conducted to standardize the enumeration of the CD34+ hematopoietic stem cell in PBSCT for last few years. In this study, we report our method of CD34 positive cell enumeration that has been used for 18 otologous and 23 allogeneic PBSCT between June 1995 to June 1998 in our clinic and the results of these PBSCTs.
