Since pleural metastasis in breast cancer generally affects the parietal pleura, diagnosis and early therapy is possible. In contrast to them, visceral pleural metastasis poses a great diagnostic problem leading delays in therapy induction and often necessitating surgical interventions. A case of ipsilateral atelectasis 7 years after breast cancer operation with combined radiotherapy and its surgical therapy is presented with a brief review of the literature.
