NEW PHANTOM FOR THE CALIBRATION AND QUALITY ASSURANCE OF TREATMENT PLANNING SYSTEM

Uludağ Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, Radyasyon Onkolojisi, ABD., Bursa For the quality assurance (QA) of treatment planning systems (TPS) and planning computerized tomography (CT)'s, a simple cylindrical phantom has been developed. The phantom was constructed by using materials and geometries which are appropriate for the routine clinic setup. Measurements were taken using a Siemens Somatom HiQ CTs, a 2D DSS Multidata treatment planning system, the lineer accelerators MD2 (Siemens). The Multidata planning system delivered good results to compare actual doses measured in phantom. The maximum deviation was approximately 3%. This phantom is build up very easily and quickly and it delivers good and reproducible results. Keywords : therapy planning phantom, calibration, quality assurance
