JOB SATISFACTION OF HEALTH PERSONNEL DEALING WITH CANCER PATIENTS

Gülhane Askeri Tıp Akademisi Tıbbi Onkoloji Bilim Dalı Job satisfaction and factors affecting this parameter in health personnel (doctor, nurse, social worker) working at 7 Oncology Centers in Ankara were investigated in this study. 202 health personnel (111 doctors, 69 nurses and 22 social workers) were included in the investigation. Hackman and Oldham's Job Satisfaction survey was used to measure job satisfaction consist of patients; sense, thought, belief and evaluation of their works. Inquiring forms and the survey were filled by personnel with face-to-face interview. Data were analyzed by SPSS software program, t test and variance analyzed were used for the evaluation. Mean score of job satisfaction of health personnel was found 39.05 over 70 (Intermediate grade). Mean scores of job satisfaction of doctors, nurses and social worker were 40.31, 44.68 and 34.85 respectively. More research work should be done to find out the unfavorable effects of job satisfaction of personnel dealing with the cancer patients and to improve the procedures of these effects. Keywords :
